Here is a picture of some puffy hearts I made for my quilting group "Fat Quarters" We had a visit from the Sunnybank Quilters yesterday and did a Christmas in July lunch for them. We made christmas decorations as a gift for each member and I made these (loved them so much I had to keep a few!) And I didn't even get to go to the lunch as both my daughters are down with the dreaded flu bug. It sounds like the the lunch was a great success though.

Down Under Quilts Calendar Competition
I entered a quilt into the Down Under 2010 Calendar competition and was so excited when I received a call the other day to say that my quilt entitled "The Tree of Life" would be included in next years calendar. It will also go on tour to exhibitions here and overseas including to Japan. I wish I could go too!! It was also at the Stitches and Craft show at Darling Harbour in Sydney last weekend.
More New Clocks
Here are the pictures I promised of my new designs.
This one is called "moment"
and this one is "play" and "sunny sunflower", all available on my website shortly!!How the Conference went....
All ready to go in the market with my patterns set out temptingly!
Last weekend I got to show my clocks to about 290 enthusiastic ladies at Brisbane Girls Grammer School as part of the first Machine Embroidery and Quilting conference. This was beautifully organised by Danielle Brown of Caboolture Sewing Centre and Lesley McDonald from Sewco. It was an exhausting weekend but I got heaps of great feedback for my clocks and quite a few sales!!

A stitch in time....
I am sewing away from dawn to dusk (literally!) getting ready for the first Machine Embroidery & Machine Quilting Conference this weekend in Brissie. In doing so I have come up with some funky new designs which I will have on show as part of my demonstration. I will write up the patterns once I get back next week and they will be for sale through my web site. www.softclox.com.au Here is a sneak peak at what I been working on. I'll post the full designs next week.

Whats happening in the studio
I am sewing night and day preparing for the first "Machine Embroidery & Quilting Conference" happening in Brisbane on the 13th & 14th June. I am creating lots of clocks, repeats of old favourites, variations and completley new designs which I will be demonstrating over the weekend and hopefully selling lots of pattern kits.
And these are another thing I love to do, Art Quilts mounted onto stretched canvasses. These are my two most recent creations

She runs like the wind....
My 9 year old daughter Jade ran in the Sunshine Coast Regional cross country race this week in Buderim and came Third!! (She is the one in blue in the middle) This means that she will compete in the Queensland State Titles in July. I am soooo proud of her. The track was incredibly wet and everyone finished splattered from head to toe in mud.
